I cannot imagine something more spectacular than planning your own wedding. Sure, it is a lot of work, stress and lots of problems but the satisfaction when it all comes together beautifully is unimaginable! You will be able to say that you did it all yourself and this will be absolutely positively spectacular.I have talked about steps to be fallowed when organizing a wedding and today I have decided take „virtual trip” through some worldwide traditions. May be you will get a great idea from this and give your wedding just the right thing to make it out of the ordinary cool, just the event that all your friends and family will talk about for a long time. Traditions are important for each and every one of us, important to follow the old and why not create our own.
In Africa for example the bride and groom’s wrists are blended with plaited grass as a symbol of the future union. In Belgium the bride carries a handkerchief embroded with her name during the ceremony and the wedding; after the wedding the handkerchief is framed and put on a wall in the house, until another wedding takes place in the family, time when it is taken down and the other handkerchief is put up.

In Bermuda the young couple plans a tree before the wedding as a symbol of their love, and they cut the wedding cake using a tree sapling.
The color red is associated in China with love and joy; therefore the traditional wedding gown and decorations, flowers and other wedding ornaments have to be red.
In Czechoslovakia the bride and the wedding attendants wear rosemary or even small roses for good luck
The tradition of the flower girl comes from England. The young girl throuwing rose petals on the bride’s path is a reminder of her maiden years and also it is for the bride’s life as a married woman to be a happy one full of joys as the beautiful rose petals.
In Finland brides use to wear gold crowns during the ceremony and the reception. At one point during the reception the „dance of the crowns” would take place, the bride was blindfolded, and her maids do honor would dance around her and she would take the crown and place it on one of the maid’s head, that being the one who would get married next.
There are many such traditions, kept safe from generation to generation, but it is up to you to establish which suits you best, which you can make your own, which you can adapt, and which new ones you can create yourself. As I previously said, it all depends on you, every little thing that you do; you must make your own, give it your personal touch and enjoy it!
