Wedding Planner Keepsake Book

My friend’s wedding celebration took place more than eleven months ago. She is now already involved in her household duties taking seriously her job as a housewife and maybe this is the reason why we have meanwhile failed to keep in touch that often. The 1 year wedding anniversary actually is the one to remind me of the day when she was that beautiful bride who didn’t show the long sleepless nights of the period of time that forerun her wedding event. I remember how much time she had spent back then in planning her wedding, how many times had I been invited over in my attempt to help her with the preparation.

Now those days are gone and so is the wedding day for which she sends now an invitation to celebrate its 1 year anniversary. I am pleased to hear again from her and while I am trying to figure out what will I wear on the occasion, I grab the phone and let her know about my attendance offering, of course, my help in case she needed some. She is also pleased to hear that I will participate at the event but as she doesn’t plan to have a big party and as such not so many people invited, she assures me that she will handle the situation. Before hanging up I remind her of the days of her wedding planning and we both start laughing while recollecting the moments.

The anniversary proves to be very well organized; I must say that with every course presented at the dinner table my friend outdoes herself. After we have finished the dessert my friend says that she has a surprise planned for us and is heading toward the shelves in the living room and draws out the wedding planner book (I recognize it from the very first moment, how could I forget?). This is the moment when I realize that the guests for this anniversary are only their parents, the bridesmaid, the bridegroom, the DJ and I the persons who were around her in those days of wedding planning.

Seeing her wedding planning keepsake book I recollect more vivid than ever the times when she was so excited, so concerned of the fact that she wouldn’t be able to manage with the planning, how much time had we spent in searching the perfect wedding planning, the one she needed to be complex and as such full of information in regard to a wedding preparation. Those moments were caught by the camera when we were the least expected and now these photos together with the worksheets of the planner are beautifully filling the pages of her wedding planning keepsake book.

The last pages are the scrap notes we have taken whenever there was something to be done as tasks presented for the people involved in the planning, each one of them being dated and glued on the blank pages from inside the spiral bound book. She presents this to us as she wants us to have these notes signed and to write something about the 1 year anniversary of her wedding event. Now this is indeed a beautiful way to keep the memory of a wedding that was planned with effort and sleepless nights for in the end to be unfolded and received as a great success both by the invitees and the couple as well!
