To start a business on their own is an important decision which once taken, it will seriously affect not only your existence, but those close to you. Not all people have the personality and character needed to run a business. Some people simply are not made to be leaders or bosses. Maybe you want to be an employee throughout your life because you do not want to take too much responsibility on your shoulders… and there is nothing strange. Having your own business means that, at one point, it is developing; you will be chief of men, you will have a team subordinated and you will have to coordinate them, to communicate with them. Obviously in the beginning will have to work with a very small team, so if you live in a multinational world you could have a problem with working in small teams and lack of procedures, because procedures will be made by you, so prepare yourself for a big change. If you start your own business, for this to work you will have to be involved 100%, so your actual job will no longer be in this landscape.
You should take into consideration that will be times when you feel like losing your mind and patience, will be a lot of problems too, and as chief, you will the one that will have to solve them. When there will be competitors, you will need to think about strategies that will be better than them. When customers are unhappy, you’ll have to reconcile. When you will not have money for salaries, rents, goods, etc., you will have to run to make credit files, to find clients, when employees are unhappy, you will have to convince them that things will straighten. You can do all this stuff? Do you want to do all this things? If the answer is yes, it means that you are probably motivated enough to start a business on your own, and always get it the way despite the obstacles that will arise.
Weddings could be a good start. You can try to begin with planning some weddings and after that you can decide if you really can make a business from this or not. It is your choice anyway, but put in balance the positive and the negative aspects of the job.
