The Wedding Planner Cast

Shooting a movie is not as easy as it may seem at a first view. When I was little, I used to think that every movie was made in a couple of days, but as I grew older, I had to face the terrible news that it wasn’t true and the process of it, was actually more complicated than that. Apart from this, in order to create an outstanding masterpiece you need to correlate different elements: staff, cast, music, director and many other things I am not very familiarized with. I believe everyone, asked him or herself, at least once in his/hers life, after seeing a movie, whether is would have had the same success if the actors, music, costumes etc. were different.




I will give you the example of one of my favorite movies “Titanic” ( Yes! I am one of those “old fashion chicks” who considers “Titanic” a masterpiece and “Avatar” a waste of time.). If the two protagonists were different, I don’t think they would have had the same success.

The same thing goes for the cast of “The Wedding Planner”, a romantic comedy, I have seen recently. Before detailing this matter, I am going to present you a short summary of the film.

“The Wedding Planner” is a movie that presents the love story between Mary Fiore and Steve Edison. Mary is a dedicated wedding planner and Steve is a doctor (pediatrician). Their roads cross when Steve saves Mary from a nasty accident. Unfortunately, they can’t be together because Steve is engaged to another woman, who turns out to be Mary’s best client. After many obstacles (Mary accepts to plan Steve’s wedding, she meets her ex-fiancee and starts suffering that she is not married, Steve confesses he is in love with her, but she can’t betray her friend (Fran), event which leads her to accept the proposal of Massimo, a childhood friend)  the protagonists end up together  and probably live happily ever after.

The cast of “The Wedding Planner” includes famous actors like Jennifer Lopez playing the role of Mary Fiore, Matthew McConaughey as Dc Steve Edison, Bridgette Wilson (Fran Donolly- Steve’s future bride), Justin Chambers (Massimo- Mary’s childhood friend), Judy Greer (Penny- Mary’s friend), Alex Rocco (Salvatore- Mary’s father), Joanna Gleason (Mrs. Donolly- Fran’s mother), Charles Kimbrough (Mr. Donolly, Fran’s father),  Cortney Shounia (Mary Fiore – Age 7) etc. These are some of the actors who brought this movie fame and success.

I am going to end my article with a funny dialog between Mary and Steve : “Steve ( taking off Mary’s neck brace): Woah, you’ve got a big neck./ Mary: I have a big neck?/ Steve: No, don’t get me wrong it’s a fine neck, it’s just that I  haven’t had a patient over the age of 6 in the past 5 years.”
