Sweet food planning for wedding

In most articles I talked about weddings which aren’t anymore traditional, we live in modern times so we need to innovate all that regards the wedding. When you decide to have a classic dress, a classic menu and a classic music, the wedding may not become boring, but neither great. Then why not try at least to replace the traditional wedding cake that you serve for dessert? Even when the wedding is a classic one, a novelty dessert  can change everything and it will give to your wedding that element of surprise that everyone needs to remember it. In this article, we’d like to tell you all about sweet food planning for a wedding in order to surprise your guests with a unique dessert.

Sweets that usually you like. If your idea of perfect day is to visit a fabric of chocolate, clearly you’re a lover of sweets. As your wedding day should be a perfect day, why not bring the chocolate factory over there? Instead of wedding cake, when it’s the moment of cutting it, bring in the centre of the hall a table full with sweets of all kinds: chocolate, wafers, candies, tablets, pralines, etc. Guests will surely be surprised and will enjoy every kind of chocolate and will socialize around the table, looking for his childhood favorite chocolate. Guests will be even more pleased if they can take chocolate for later, so you should offer them some small paper bags or cardboard boxes printed with your name, where they can take a few pieces of something sweet. Nobody will forget such a wedding.

Homemade sweets. If your favorite cake is that one made by your grandmother, why not bring your favorite cake and the wedding? Especially if you don’t have many guests, you can make a home cake or several small cakes of various flavors, all made by your family and friends. As well you can go on the modern idea of tarts and cakes, as pumpkin tart and sweet potato (perfectly for fall weddings), lemon tart or with berries (for summer weddings) and of course tart with strawberry or cheesecake for spring weddings. If you think a single home made cake is not enough, no matter how big it is, you can replace the traditional wedding cakes, ordered  at cafeteria, with homemade sweets. Your guests will recognize the authentic cakes.

Individual desserts. Rather than buy a huge cake, with several layers, why not buy several small cakes, one serving for each guest present at the party? If you have too many guests and you think it would take too many mini cakes for each one, then order a wedding cake for each table. For a plus of color, you can make cakes in different colors or with different tastes. For an extra touch of class, you can individually pack them in personalized cardboard boxes. Also in the category of individual sweets, you’ll find the truffles or pralines packed individually that you can serve to your guests in satin pouches.

Dessert menu. One big disadvantage for wedding cakes is that guests have only one option and maybe some don’t like the chocolate, so what you’ll do if you have a single huge wedding cake with chocolate? Innovative solution is to make a dessert menu, so guests can choose the dessert that they want. Of course, it would be quite difficult for waiters, so it is best to do a Swedish buffet where you put different kinds of dessert: mini-tarts, truffles, miniature cakes, fruits coated in chocolate, simple fruit salad, ice cream , pancakes, cheese ball.

I hope these ideas about sweet food planning for a wedding will really help you and moreover, will ease your work in adding some drops of color and novelty to your traditional wedding!
