To begin with, make sure that you have a flat backyard that is spacious enough to host both the wedding ceremony and reception. Discuss with your wedding coordinator and find solutions for the uneven areas. You wouldn’t want you floral arrangements to keep falling off the table.

Talk to your neighbors and let them know about the date and time of your wedding so that they wouldn’t make loud noises or walk naked at that precise time. Be gentle and polite but prepare yourself for refusals, especially if some of them were expecting to be invited at the wedding. If you have a green light from your neighbors, ask them if they also would like to allow you to use their driveways as parking spaces. It would be a real life saver.

After these details have been covered, make sure that your backyard is worthy of receiving its guests. Prepare in advance for this wonderful event (mow the lawn a day before the wedding, plant flowers and consult a specialist that can tell you what time is more appropriate to plant them so that they can blossom exactly around your wedding date etc.) and assure yourself that everything is set.

Meanwhile, look for a priest that agrees with the chosen location and remember that not all of them are willing to perform the ceremonies outside church. And if we are still on this topic, check with the city hall to see if you need a permit for the wedding, noise restriction, parking areas and so on. The last thing you need is to fight with police officers on your big day because your uncle cries too loudly.

Another tip would be to inform your guests about the location and because some of them might not be familiarize with your house add precise indications, little maps or a telephone number available at any hour.
