Redneck Wedding Planner

My best friends’ bridal shower was to take place pretty soon and I knew that I had to come up with a gift(and of course I started to look up online for wedding shower ideas). To me choosing gifts is the most delicate thing, especially when I know for a fact that the person in question has it all! The same happened now with the choice of a gift for a bride-to-be who has it all! And indeed she has; once the wedding celebration is over they will move into a brand new house with everything a couple needs to start a new life, therefore I saw myself at a loss not knowing what gift to present to her.

I am aware of the fact that her family and his folks as well are coming from the high-society; that is why they have tried to provide all the necessary stuff to the wedding couple and be sure that they will have the best wedding event ever planned. These two families are self-made people, they wanted to be sure that their kids will have the wedding celebration that they have wished for themselves to have back then in the times when they saved every penny to build a future for their married life.

And now, the fact that money presentation was out of the question in regard to the bridal shower gift, as specified in the invitation, I knew that something more likely to resemble an object of decoration or a funny little object could work wonders as well. After all the invitation itself was worded in a funny way, too, so I didn’t consider that I would be out of line once I come with something that might bring a ray of sunshine together with a smile on their faces. But the question was what should be more appropriate? Something that has to do with the wedding event, or something to do with their future life, or what?

I didn’t know what I was actually looking for while starting to browse the Internet’s options for bridal shower gifts ideas, but more I searched more I was at a loss with the idea of a genuine bridal shower gift. It is not that the web sites didn’t offer many solutions, but they were not among the things I was looking forward finding online. My sister came up with an idea: to find a book, something that is funny, for instance recipes of meals that have funny names or simply a joke book which could contain images drawn by funny cartoonists.

And because I knew that her fiancé works as a wedding planner I had finally decided to present her “The Redneck wedding planner”, a book written by Ophelia Bernice Peterson, Buck Peterson and illustrated by Mark Brewer. I found the book while browsing for books on wedding planners and reading its reviews I reached the conclusion that “The Redneck wedding planner” can work as well as a useful funny guide for the people involved in wedding planning.

After all, rednecks are the ones who due to their existence have become subjects to generate funny jokes and funny ways of living one’s life. While they lead a life that is deprived of concerns, caring mostly for their own immediate needs, they are not at all involved in a social life following the etiquette of behaving and good manners, exactly the opposite of my friend’s way of being raised. I was glad that I have finally come up with this option of a gift and I surely hope that it will represent also a funny reading for both my friend and her fiancé.
