Quotes From The Wedding Planner

The film industry has always tried to find new and interesting subjects to attract its audience. From the relationship between man and animals, war, love and hate to wedding planning and other similar elements. There are many movies about wedding planning and here are just some examples: “Brides War,” “I Do-But I Don’t,” “The Wedding Planner” etc. I found the latter one to be a romantic comedy which helped me relax after a hard day at work.

I am going to present, shortly the plot of the movie and afterwards some quotes from “The Wedding Planner” which will hopefully convince you to become a fan. “The Wedding Planner” is a romantic story between a wedding planner and a doctor. Mary Fiore (Jennifer Lopez) is a dedicated wedding planner who is more preoccupied to help others than taking care of her own life. After being saved from an accident by Dr. Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey), she falls in love with him, but their love is an impossible one because Steve is engaged with Mary’s best client, Fran. After a series of obstacles and crazy situations, Steve’s wedding gets canceled and he runs to stop Mary from getting married to her childhood friend Massimo. The end is of course happy, although the story is not missing any intense or dramatic moments.

In order to prove my point, I have selected 3 quotes from “The Wedding Planner” that will definitely arouse happy tears, feelings of joy and why not a little jealousy.

The first quote I have chosen and which I consider being sincere and romantic is one of Massimo’s when he proposed to Mary: “Mary, I know I never done the right thing, say the right thing. I know I act like a fool. I know say we’d be buddy-buddy friends, but that would not be true to my heart so I’ll ask this one question, and if you answer “no” I’ll leave you alone once and for all. Be my wife, Mary Fiore. If you answer yes I’ll take care of you, be true to you, and like this house I built for your dolls, I’ll make sure you have a strong roof over your head. If you answer yes than no one will love you as much as I love you. If you answer yes than you will make me the happiest man on earth.”

Another one refers to the funny moment in which Mary discuses with her friend Penny about Massimo: “Mary:” For an entire summer he followed me around asking me if I had a vagina!”/ Penny: “I think that’s adorable!”.

The last one involves Steve’s feelings about the first night they spent together, in the park: “: I barely know you. I don’t know your dad’s first name, I don’t know if you ever wore braces, or contacts, or glasses and I have no idea how you came to be a wedding planner, Mary. But I do know the curves of your face. And I know every fleck of gold in your eyes. I know that the night at the park was the best time I’ve ever had.”

These are some of my favorite quotes from “The Wedding Planner” but I do hope that this article has aroused your curiosity and you will rent this movie when you get the chance.
