Planning My Own Wedding

I have always wondered how will my wedding day look like and how am I going to prepare it. Will I need a wedding planner’s help? Will I manage to do them all?

As you can see planning your own wedding can be rather stressful, but if you manage to be organized and calm, all these feelings of stress and anxiety will lose their intensity.

Another good idea would be to keep your wedding planning book close to you or take it anywhere you go. Also make some copies and give them to some of your friends or family members who you consider trustworthy and reliable. They will help you plan the whole process easier.

When planning your own wedding, you have a lot of things on your mind, so write your schedule as precise as you can. List your general events of the day (for example: May 25^th –last minute preparations, June 6^th –wedding ceremony etc.) so that your actions can become clearer and occupy a strategic position in your head.

Begin making a list of vendors, venues, professionals etc. and dedicate a page for each of them. After finishing this, arrange them by name, services offered, address, phone number or in every manner that is more convenient to you. When you take care of this, make sure that you also conceive a list of your guests, including there, all the necessary details (phone number, address, time and date of the arrival- if they are out-of-towners).

If you are planning you own wedding you have to take care to match the budget too. If you can’t handle the finances all by yourself make use of a wedding planner’s help. There are wedding planners who offer their services on a “day-of” basis so that you can hire him or her for just one day and ask whatever questions run through your head.

Or you have the better option when you can hire a wedding planner just for a couple of hours to a reasonable price of $50/hour.  In this period of time you can ask questions, seek advice, opinion etc. with the problems to which you can’t find any cure.

If the option of hiring a wedding planner is out of the question for various reasons, adapt and be your own wedding planner. And don’t forget that every wedding planner has some little helpers. Use you imagination and family or friends. They will be more that delighted to help you and they will feel important and appreciated.

Planning your own wedding is not easy but is not impossible either. With calm, organization, a little “iron fist” and a lot of patience, a strong person can manage to transform their wedding day into an unforgettable one. In addition to this, you have the advantage of creating your dream wedding exactly how you’ve always pictured it because you are in charge of everything. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with your decisions and enjoy your beautiful wedding day. These are the memories which you will carry with you all your life.
