I thought to myself: “Wow, a book that teaches you about planning a wedding for dummies? I have got to see this.”

After a closer inspection, I realized it is a wonderful book with many, many details about planning a wedding (examples, charts, checklists etc.). This book has been written by Marcy Bloom and Laura Fisher Kiser and has 6 parts and 24 chapters in which they present the wedding planning process in a funny and delighting manner. You have had the chance to see Marcy Bloom at The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show or Good Morning America and find out that she is in the wedding and event planning industry for over 17 years so you can be sure that she has plenty of experience. About Laura Fisher Kiser, I can tell you that her main passion is writing about collectibles, antiques, consumer trends and that she has contributed to The Washington Post, This Old House Magazine, and Interior Design Magazine.
These two lovely ladies worked together and managed to create the interesting “Wedding Planning for Dummies”, a book in which they share a lot of their life experience and knowledge.
As I said before, there are 6 parts, each of these created with humor but seriousness, so that anyone can learn easier and faster how to plan their wedding. The first part is called: “The Glass Slipper Fits- Now What?” and you will be familiarized with the first steps which need to be taken after the proposal, wedding budget and the formalities that will allow you to be a “legal bride”. Part two is “Be Our Guest” and refers to wedding venues, destinations, invitations and guests list, the weekend before the wedding, themes and bachelor or bachelorette parties.

In parts three and four (“Ceremony Survival Guide” and “A Rousing Reception”) the authors explain how to choose your bridesmaids and best men, how ceremonies are organized in other religions, about flowers, music, menu, cake or setting.
And finally, the last two parts (“Gifts, Garb, Pics and Trips” and “The Part of Tens”) will treat the issues of gifts, rings, photos and videos, temptations and tricks for saving money.
I know it is an unjustly short presentation of this stunning book but if you want to find out more about it, you can buy it on Amazon.com at the amazing price of $13.59. You won’t regret buying it!
