Planning A Garden Wedding Checklist
I always considered that planning is very important. Planning your day, your weekend, your marriage etc, is very important because it helps you eliminate the element of surprise and be in total control. But in every planning situation you need to have a little checklist that will guide you to the next step and will help you solve your tasks easier.
In order to see better the advantages that this kind of list brings us, we can examine a concrete situation. Let’s say that you consider
planning a garden wedding and you need a
checklist. How do you think this would look like?
First of all, there are the main important decisions which need to be checked:
- Decide upon the level of formality and the style of your wedding;
- Choose the date (time of the year and time of the day);
- Establish the location of your garden wedding (at home, at a villa etc.)
- Plan a budget amount for the wedding and discus with the parents about their involvement.
- Find the right person to officiate the ceremony.
After taking care of these important issues, move on to a detailed checklist. Remember that organizing a wedding is difficult, so planning a garden wedding checklist is not going to be any easier. Think about the advantages of planning such a wedding (don’t have to decorate, clean etc.) but also about the disadvantages (the weather, the nature’s little “joys”-bugs, bees etc.). So be practical and start planning!
- Select the exact place where you plan to have the ceremony;
- Start searching for companies which can offer you chairs or help you with all these technical details;
- Provide umbrellas, if it is a sunny day.
- Don’t forget to hire someone to clean the place up. You wouldn’t want to trip over a rock or rip your dress because of a shrub or other questionable plants.
- Prepare flower arrangements. Even if it is a garden and you are sure to find flowers, remember that these can offer you surprises too. If your wedding date doesn’t correspond with the blooming time, providing flower arrangements can be a good idea.

- Hire a good photograph and announce him or her about your outdoor wedding so that they can bring special tools.
- Also, make sure that the setting is an appropriate one and you won’t have to see pictures where plants or bushes look like they are coming out of people’s heads.
- Wear comfortable clothes for the ceremony. If it is too hot and you have a heavy, complicated dress you may sweat and ruin your makeup and implicitly the wedding pictures.
These are the main points of a garden wedding checklist, which need to be taken care of. If you are going to forget some of these details it ok, not everything has to be perfect. There will always be little things that slip out of control and threaten to ruin our plans, but if we know how to remain calm and confident, we will definitely succeed.Good luck and “happy wedding day!”.
