Planning A Barbeque Wedding Reception

Planning your wedding reception is no piece of cake because there are many important decisions that need to be taken care of. What venue to choose, should you  decorate with flowers or balloons, have a light, vegetarian menu or one based mainly on meat? These are all question that need to be answered quickly because after a long time spent with God (wedding ceremony), people get really hungry.

Personally, I am very fond of meat and although I know it is not that healthy to eat it every day, I can’t help myself. For those of you who share my feelings and don’t feel complete without meat, I am going to give you some advice on planning a barbeque wedding reception. It is easy, simple and very tasty.

First of all, make sure that you hire a person who can be in charge of the barbeque. It is obvious that you won’t be able to take care of this because together with your spouse will have to entertain your guests. So let someone else take care of that. However, if you want to have a perfect barbeque reception, remember that a single person can’t take care of this alone. So hire two people who can take turns in watching the grill. Speaking of the grill, if you intend to have a large number of guests, assure your “caterers” functional materials that can ease their work. Get a large grill, so that the poor people wouldn’t have to deal with the problem of cooking too much on a small grill.

Also, prepare your food in advance. Even if you will have time to slice, chop and marinate your ingredients, they won’t taste the same and will probably be dry and inedible. Keep this in mind, especially if you have invited older guests who have teeth problems. The same applies when choosing your menu. You have to opt for something that cooks rather easy and it is at the same time tasty and juicy. So don’t buy duck or ribs which take at least 30 minutes to cook. Pick something simple like chicken strips, sausages, marinated skirt steak or ever hamburgers or hot-dogs (these are not quite appropriate for a wedding reception).

For the side courses you can choose between salad, grilled mixed vegetables, rice or grilled endive. These will add a plus of color to your design and will help you feed your guests quicker and with fewer expenses.

As you can notice, planning a barbeque wedding reception is not very complicated and doesn’t imply a lot of hard work. You just need the right food, the right ambiance and the right people. So don’t forget to choose your wedding date in a warm month, prepare the food with fresh meat and vegetables and invite in advance the people who matter most to you. It will be like spending a family dinner with your friends and family members, celebrating love, in a pleasant and peaceful environment. What could a couple want more from a wedding like this?
