Planning A 50th Wedding Anniversary Party
Planning a 50th wedding anniversary party is an entertaining and fun job. For those of you who don’t agree with me, I am going to explain briefly in this article, the manner in which you can plan a 50
th wedding anniversary party.
To start with,
planning a 50th wedding anniversary party can be fun, if you love what you do and the persons for whom you are doing it. And consider that it can be an advantage to plan your parents or your grandparents’ anniversary because you know them better than anyone. The first thing you need to do is to set a date for the big event. Try to consider the couple’s wishes too (in what time of the day they would want to have the party, if they have a lucky number, if they are available on that date if you are planning a surprise anniversary etc.) Then, make a guests list and send invitations. If you have the possibility, you can send homemade invitations with a picture of the couple from their wedding day. It would sure be romantic reminding them of the beginning of their love. Depending on how many people you are going to invite, start thinking about a proper location. You can have it at home, at a restaurant, in the garden of a villa or in any place you consider it would be appropriate.

And if you have chosen the location, it is time to start decorating it. Remember that
planning a 50th wedding anniversary party means preparing for the celebration of the “golden wedding”, so it is naturally for the party’s color to be gold. Choose golden tableware, tablecloths, napkins etc. or display some of the family photos in beautiful golden frames. Everything will glow; literally! If you are not a big fan of golden things, you can decide over an anniversary party which has a theme dating from the 50s. Imagine Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe or Elizabeth Taylor “performing” at your party.

Once you have decided over the location and decorations, it is time to think about food and music. For the food problem, the wisest thing, is to hire a caterer, but if you want this party to be more “personal”, you can cook the food yourself. It is going to be harder and you will probably need some old recipes, but when everyone will appreciate the food and compliment the chef, you will definitely blush. In terms of music, you really have to enrich your collection with some old songs. If we think about it, most couples who celebrate their 50
th anniversary, are somewhere in their 70’s or even older, so do research over the music from that period. No matter what you do, don’t forget to add the favorite song of the couple or the song they first danced on as a married couple.
I believe these are the most important tips that need to be taken into consideration when planning a 50th wedding anniversary party. Don‘t forget to throw in a good disposition and voila!
