Planning 50th Wedding Anniversary Party

We all now that relationships are very difficult. Finding the balance needed in a relationship is very hard and that is why few people manage to really experience beautiful love stories and to keep the fire that first touched their hearts, burning. In this article, I am going to talk about planning a 50^th wedding anniversary party. It sure is lovely when we think about couples that lasted 50 years in a relationship, more or less monogamous. Couples who manage to “survive” this period of time, deserve all our respect, because being in a relationship means that you have to make sacrifices and sometimes you have to pass through situations more or less convenient in order to continue your relationship.




When planning a 50^th wedding anniversary party , we have to take into account that the couple has a certain rank of experience and elegance, so we cannot afford to make mistakes. First of all, we have to establish the location of the wedding party. Is it going to be a little gathering (friends, family) at home or at a restaurant, or is it going to be a large event  (friends, family, neighbors, work colleagues) in some fancy location? 

Furthermore we should keep in mind that  the symbol of the 50^th wedding anniversary is gold, so we should take into account when planning such a party how we manage to arrange all the details. For example, it is a good idea to serve the drinks in glasses that have gold accents, write cards with golden ink or use golden frames to exhibit photos of the happy couple.

For the musical part it is recommended to use songs from the period the couple got married. This will be a very touching moment since music accompanies most of us a big part of our lives and we tend to associate different songs with different emotions, events etc. But you should not stick only to that kind of music. It is important to diversify everything in order to have a balanced party.

It is important to remember that after 50 years of marriage, the couple has accumulated almost every item that you can possible think of giving as a present. But don’t be disappointed  because we have some ideas that can come in handy. A good idea for wedding gifts, would be to ask the guests to write some of their memories or thoughts about the couple in a scrapbook, which you can later give to them.

Also as the wedding planner, or the host, you should begin to make a toast for the couple. Meaningful thoughts and happy memories should be present in your discourse, but try not to exaggerate. It is important to speak from the heart and say what you feel. Moreover, you should encourage the other guests to do the same thing and of course, videotape it .

As a conclusion we can say that planning a 50^th wedding  anniversary party is a challenge, but also a good lesson for the younger generation because from these people we learn to love, to commit and how to remain faithful for a long time .And for these things I consider they deserve out sincere respect.
