Understanding planning from the position of a job performance, one can see from the very beginning that it is a job that requires good organizational skills that need to be possessed by a person who has to deal with setting up an event or an activity of some sort. But beside these skills there are other abilities that a planner must possess if we consider the extent given to such an event. The definition of wedding is in itself complex not only from its physical planning point of view, but also from the spiritual side that is implied by the act of marriage. A job outlook for wedding planners can be understood as a great opportunity for the persons qualified in the wedding field, the persons who have already attended the accredited courses followed by the issue of a certificate which guarantees the proper education and practical training in the field. Once these courses fulfilled the wedding planner can choose to work in the wedding industry either as a consultant or as a director, for the latter needing however some more experience gained.

As a wedding consultant the job outlook is seen easier to be attained, although the consultancy is only a step away from the planning itself, since working as a consultant is requires the total involvement in a process of a planning but only as an outsider. A consultant still needs to have the abilities of a wedding planner, but he assists to the planning only with the counseling. In this respect, the knowledge of a planning is also required, this one implying the awareness of every detail that a wedding consists of, therefore, consulting doesn’t have to be seen as such an easy task to perform.

As a wedding director, however, the tasks grow in responsibilities, in approaching the matter from a more complex point of view, him/her being the one to give the final approval on the way a wedding is planned. He is also the one to take all the complaints in case a wedding doesn’t turn out to be as it was supposed to.

With the growth of the wedding field, job outlook for wedding planners is comprehend as a necessity, many of the events planning companies advertising for available positions as wedding planners, requiring in this matter, professionalism and correctness in performing the job. The personal involvement is understood as allotting one’s free time in the hands of the planning; a wedding planner should never see a job like this stretching between the limits of a 8 hours/day job. He/she should forget about free after program hours, wedding planning requiring total commitment into its performance. But apart from these aspects, one should take this job outlook as a rewarding job both financially and spiritually.
