I only imagine how much fun it would be to be able to plan weddings, to do this for a job and combine weddings with business. Weddings are part of a series of unforgettable memories in one person’s life; therefore I think it would be great to be able to shear the happiness of these moments with all the couples that require your services. There are many benefits to this job; you will have a job that is fun, interesting, and rewarding. If you start your own wedding planning businesss you can enjoy the freedom of being your own boss.




Nevertheless it is not always such an easy job, and there is a lot of work to be done, but if you are determined and willing than you can do everything. You have to be a good organizer, patient and ambitious, because when things do not go your way then you must start over and make it happen your way no matter what. You have to put a lot of working hours, put up with different kinds of people and a crazy schedule. Being your own boss is not an easy job, and if you think about it you are not really your own boss, the client is your boss, and you must do everything to please him or her. Although the client is the boss, you have to make yourself heard, you have to take decisions, make suggestions and help the client choose what suits him or her the best.

I you decide to start your own wedding planning business then the steps are the same as any other business. You need to find a catchy name, the necessary paper work, some connections (you have to know some good catering firms, someone to take care of the music, someone to take care of the flowers and decorations, and some good locations to rent). The best way to make you business grow is through advertising, therefore a website is a must. After things get moving you must make a portfolio so as your future clients have samples of your work. Also you must have a lot of connections, you must be familiar with all the new trends and always be up to date with everything. A key ingredient in this line of work is meeting dead lines, always being on time, always be professional. It is not easy to manage everything, therefore you must have a capable staff working for you, so choose your people wisely, because you business is best represented by the people that work for you: train them well, be sharp and do not except mistakes, and be and example for you staff!

You must not have special education to start your own business, but there are some books you can read (you must know what to expect and must have some tips to know where to start from), you can find what you need in any library, and if you have friends or people you know that work in the field than you must last for pointers.
