Ideas for planning wedding menu

We started the year with the right and how the winter holidays had ended, the wedding season started again. Trends have changed a little from last year and if you want to have a wedding in step with modern trends of the moment, it’s good to put yourself in touch with what’s hot or not in terms of weddings. In this article, we’d like to offer you some ideas for planning wedding menu. ;2010′s wedding cake is an oddball one.

The traditional wedding cakes are no longer in trend, in any case covered in cream, decorated with sugar roses, marzipan and a bride and groom on the top. Very fashionable are those that combine flavors and colors. Instead of one large cake, cakes are several separate levels, each level having a different taste. Very in vogue are the cakes with cheese or cheesecakes, many couples are choosing even a fake wedding cake for cutting wedding cake moment and a picture, and guests are served with a simple cheesecake with fruit sauce.

The cakes coated in cream or marzipan are no longer fashinoable, especially if they are white. But the cake coated in flavored cheese cream and decorated with lots of fresh fruit, is definitely very hot! The more decorations on the cake and on the table will be natural, much better will give the general picture of the wedding. Strawberries, carambola or star fruit, passion fruit, berries, all are perfect to decorate the cake.

The cake’s shape should be as abstract, as it is the cake itself or support which is brought into the room. The colors are as bold, in tone with the colors chosen for the wedding theme and decorations. Very in trend are the cupcakes, small cakes for everyone, so each guests will be served with his own cupcake. Bride and groom cut a normal cake, and the guests receive their mini-cakes. Such a wedding cake is made of cookies arranged as a pyramid, is more economical than a large cake, which you buy by weight. In addition, you can choose cookies with different flavors, which taste will please even the most demanding guests.

No festive meal? Apparently yes! In America are very in trend the cocktail weddings, which are fixed in the afternoon, after lunch time, and only serve snacks and appetizers on the buffet Swedish model, and the invitation says “cocktail only”. Even if the wedding budget is limited, you can concentrate more on entertainment, music and activities than on the decorations of the hall and the food. And while talking about food, do not forget the chocolate fountain and lots of fresh fruit or candied and why not, try even other craziest ideas for planning wedding menu, such as an ice cream stand or Cotton Candy.

The heavy food is no longer in trend, so fried food, soup or other menu full of calories should totally miss from guests plates, but generally frugal meals, light, which give you energy are very okay. The salad bar with different types of salad, with or  without dressing is again a good idea, still you should avoid the salad with  mayonnaise, especially because you do not know exactly how it was prepared. Talking about appetizers, plates with all sorts of cheese are very hot and even all kind of cheese fondue.

If you’re planning a wedding then you will also need to plan a menu. There are some things you can do to diversify your wedding menu. For example: Comfort food (such as macaroni and cheese) is becoming a popular item for wedding menus.
    * Ethnic cuisines such as Indian or Italian fare can add flair and personality to your wedding menu.
    * Food stations are popular to keep your guests up and active.
    * Talk to your caterer about any ideas he or she may have—they want to keep your wedding menu interesting as well.
    * Make sure when you are choosing your site that you ask if there is an in-house caterer you must use or if you can bring in your own. And these are just a few, just to give you an idea. Good luck!
