How Much Do You Tip Your Wedding Planner

When you decide to get married, there are certain aspects which should be taken into consideration.” Where to have the wedding?”, “Who to invite?” and “Who is the best person that can help you make all the arrangements?” are some of the most frequently asked questions. Let’s say that everything has turn out great and you have found the people you need in order to make your day memorable. However, you must not forget that tipping the persons you work with is a very important element.

Tipping has gained ground nowadays, becoming a compulsory thing for those with common sense. But the main question of those who use the services of wedding planners and wedding vendors is: “How much do you tip your wedding planner or your vendor planner?”

First of all, even though it is believed that tipping should be a voluntary thing(?!) some areas require tipping. You should also keep in mind that there are some vendors who include tipping in their price, so be careful not to double tip. If you decide on using a wedding planner you should know that he is in charge of distributing the tips to the vendors. If a wedding coordinator doesn’t exist, ask your best man, your father or your father-in-law to take care of this problem. They are here to help right?

Further on, I am going to present some useful advice about tips. These should always be given in cash and if the person who you are giving it to is an employee of the company you are working with, this should be put separately, in an envelop. Also, remember to tip the vendor after he leaves, so you can pay him according to the work he has done. If a particular vendor has impressed you with his or her professionalism it wouldn’t hurt to send him or her a little ”thank you” card or a box of chocolates. Vendors are always eager to see happy and pleased clients and why not, add another name to their clients list.

Generally, the persons you should tip are the altar boys or girls, the limousine driver, bartenders and the DJ. For the altar boys or girls you shouldn’t tip more than $10 or 15 for each person and the limousine driver should receive approximately 10-15% of the limousine bill. When tipping the bartender the rule also applies, receiving 10% of the total liquor bill. Make sure that a tip hasn’t already been added . Last but not least, the DJ is an important factor in the entertainment industry. So tip him $50-100. If you have both a DJ and an MC give them $50 each. They will sure be pleased and everyone will be happy.

I hope that the question:”How much do you tip your wedding planner? has become clearer to you, due to this article. Don’t forget that it is important to maintain a positive relationship with all the people you come in contact with because human relations are important for the proper evolution of one’s personality.
