Guide to the Big Day

I have recently decided to plan my own wedding. It is a difficult task, I know, but I am the kind of person that lies to do it all by herself, considering that I do my best in all, and I know better what I want and need, so why let another do it. Also I am considering the money that I will save on the wedding planner, and the hard job seems a bit sweeter.

I have searched the internet for different guides to wedding planning and I have decided to make my own, because every wedding is different and it is better to suit each one and each wedding.

Therefore without going on further let us start with the beginning:

The location- Whether you choose to place your wedding indoors or outdoors you must choose wisely, because the location is where the magic happens.

Guests- You should not invite every living relative you have,( even the old crazy aunt that since you war 10 asked you every time when you get married), or all the neighbors, or old classmates and friends. Think a bit about the special people in your life make a list and then invite then.  Do not forget that it is compulsive for your guests to confirm their attendance.

Invitations- Nothing to fancy, I think that everything should be done with style, but do not over do anything. Do not forget your personal touch!

Catering- Again, choose wisely the catering firm and even more important the menu.

Wedding cake- Choose whatever you prefer and this time go crazy, in fact it is your day, and at least this time you are allowed to go nuts!

Rings- I for one am crazy when it comes to jeweler  especially my wedding ring, let us not forget that I will be wearing the ring for a lifetime, therefore I want it special, stylish and practice .

Bride’s maids and Best men- I want to choose a few of the closest friends that I want near me to share my happiness

The dress- Well, you should consider first of all what looks god on you and only afterwards fashion and style.

The shoes- I will go with something comfortable, because I have to stand a lot and need to feel good. If you insist on a pair of high heels, than bring an extra pair of comfortable shoes, so you do not have any surprises.

The Groom’s suit- Something to suit his style and definitely and extra shirt, just in case

Decorations- It depends on the location you choose, on the colors and of course on your preferences. I am going to choose red and light blue, choosing both mine and Mr.’s favorite colors.

Flowers- Women love flowers but tend to overdo it when it comes to this aspect. Choose at most two different kinds of flowers and make different arrangements. Do not forget to use the same colors as those from the decorations.

  • Honeymoon- The best part is planning for the honeymoon, because after all the wedding preparations it is only fair to choose the perfect relaxation spot.

Hopefully I have been helpful with my guide. I have another option (in case you want to smile a bit before the big day). Wish me luck on my day and wish you all the same as well.
