Summer is no doubt the wedding season, but temperatures rising from year to year make wedding a chore, only thinking that you must wear a heavy wedding gown made from taffeta and the groom should wear a tuxedo with shirt, vest and tie. The solution isn’t to cancel your wedding for February, nor to marry at the North Pole, but to organize a summer wedding with tropical accents, which will definitely be on the guests taste wilted by the heat. The wedding does not necessarily have to be a solid event, where you must respect all the rules of etiquette, but must be a unique event, which represents you and your guests will remember it with pleasure.




Bride’s gown & groom suit for a summer wedding. When are more than 30 degrees in the shade, it’s not mandatory to wear a gown in 10 layers or one with crinoline and long gloves to the elbow. But choose a light dress, made from linen, to be in one layer, with empty shoulders or with very thin straps.

If you feel comfortable, you can choose even a mini dress, but if you want to keep some classic accents, choose a long dress to the earth, made from flax or linen, tight on your wait and also accessorized with a ribbon or with a sweet bow. In the groom’s case, forget about the classic suit and shirt and opt for a linen or flax suit, in natural colors, white, cream, beige or khaki. The groom may even refrain from coat in favor of a shirt with long sleeves.

Food for a summer wedding. When it’s awful hot outside, your guests won’t want to eat cooked or hot products, heavy either, so your wedding menu should include cold food, fresh and soft, like a buffet of fresh fruit and yogurt sauce not with a chocolate fountain, cold rolls, various plates of cold appetizers that don’t require heating and, of course, a variety of salads. For such a wedding, especially if you’ll hold it in a garden or somewhere on the beach, you can replace the classic menu with a Swedish buffet.

In this way, your guests will have the access to all the refreshing delights and also they will socialize much easier than staying all together at their places. 
Regarding drinks, forget about carbonated refreshing, and pick fruit juices, fresh summer cocktails, mojito or orange vodka and of course, at the rank of honor will be the refreshing and delicious lemonade. For dessert, as the logistics allow you, you can choose a wedding cake filled with ice cream or at least a portion of ice cream served with the classic wedding cake. You can serve melon filled with ice cream, this being the perfect combination between fruit salad and ice cream, two desserts for summer.

Favors for a summer wedding. Remember that the main aim is to escape from the heat and to feel lighter, so cream cakes and alcoholic beverages aren’t such appreciated favors by your guests. You should offer them a gift which can be used all summer, not to throw it in a corner of the drawer. A good idea is represented by personalized fans with your initials or with your wedding date for young ladies and for gentlemen, the fans with battery are really great. If you’ll hold the wedding on the beach, you can customize the labels of the beach lotions or you can offer to your guests personalized beach towels, pareo for ladies and modern hats for gentlemen.
