I started searching for some wedding planning courses by distance because I don’t have enough time to dedicate myself to this. So I found out about Fitzwilliam Institute that offers diploma in wedding planning with Event Management module by distance that include subjects like: Preliminary Planning – Wedding Brief planning and Budgeting. That will be very helpful I think especially the budgeting because most people go beyond their budget but hey it’s your wedding right it’s not a good idea to become cheap about it but it doesn’t hurt to be wise with your budget. Imagine this as your economy exam.
The next you want to learn about is wedding guest management, wedding outfitting, countdown logistic, wedding ceremony, civil wedding, ethic wedding and celebrity wedding. Who said that planning a wedding is easy especially for others when you have to take in consideration their likes and dislikes.
This diploma will be recognized and internationally accredited by the Institute of Commercial Management , so if you want to plan a wedding in Africa then don’t worry your diploma is accredited. Course duration: 14 weeks that is perfect I didn’t plan to allocate more of my time to this course. Fees: 495$ may be paid online, but think of it as an investment of your money for your future.
Another three programs that I found for distance wedding planner: degrees offered by Penn Foster Career School –Certified Wedding Planner, US Career Institute –Wedding Consulting/ Event Planning Cert and Ashworth College- Bridal Consulting Program. They are all convenient, affordable and accredited, your studies will include: Customs and Traditions, Wedding Etiquettes, Vendor Services, The Role of the Consultant. You will also have to take a professional certification exam.
I never thought it will be so many studies and exams to become a wedding planner but I guess it will be worthy in the future. Just think that a full-time experienced planner can organize 20 to 30 evens per year and the typical planning fee for a planner is 10% to 15% so it’s a good investment if you intend to get a diploma. And it’s also a pleasant job, you will not only plan a wedding but you will plan a lifetime memories for every bride and groom.
