Charlene Whitstock Planning Wedding In Monaco

An old saying teaches us that “you can command your heart who to love”. From my own experience I have learnt that this is completely true. Love remains an inexplicable phenomenon which strikes us when we least expect it and ties us to the least expected persons. Further on, in life, if these are the persons with whom we are supposed to be, we learn to love, respect and cherish them. But the heart’s laws aren’t always respected by the others . The most “famous” cases are those in which parents (usually royalty) disagree with their children’s choices or relationships. Of course, more often, there are political implications in stake, so these children aren’t allowed to say anything. But there are also happier cases when children are entitled to marry their loved one, without any impositions.

The relationship between Charlene Wittstock and Prince Albert II of Monaco, is an example of a relationship where the social status is less important. They met in 2000, but began going out since 2006 and the world suddenly started asking itself if Charlene Wittstock is planning a wedding in Monaco?

Charlene Wittstock was born on January 25th 1978 in Bulawayo, Rhodesia, as the daughter of Michael Kenneth Wittstock, a computer operator and Lynette Humberstone, a former competitive diver. She inherited the love from swimming from her mother and she managed to win several titles until now, when she is faced to change the swimming costume for a more conventional one: the Princess one.

The question: “Is Charlene Wittstock planning a wedding in Monaco?” started appearing in 2006, when Prince Albert II was seen accompanied by Charlene at the opening ceremony of the “2006 Winter Olympics” and afterwards at the Monaco Grand Prix. Their most recent apparition as a couple dates from June 2010, when they attended the wedding of Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling in Stockholm.

A couple of days latter, the couple became publicly engaged and Charlene had to surpass some “rituals”. She was raised a Protestant and became a member of the Roman Catholic Church, as the Constitution of Monaco requires it. She also had to learn the Monegasque dialect, the French language and the European court protocol. After getting married to Prince Albert II (marriage planned for 2 July 2011), Charlene will gain the title of “Her Serene Highness The Princess Of Monaco”, position which was once occupied by Prince Albert’s mother, the famous actress Grace Kelly.

Planning a wedding between a royalty and an “ordinary” person is not as easy as you might think because usually, the person who is not part of a noble family has to make different “sacrifices” if she or he wants to become a part of that family.

Despite these facts, organizing a wedding on such high standards has always represented a time of joy and happiness for everyone. The wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Di is just an example of how grace and nobility should unite in such cases. Unfortunately the fairytale doesn’t last for ever and things end up sooner than anyone had expected.
