The main characters are Mary Fiore, played by the actress and singer, Jennifer Lynn Lopez and Steven Edison played by the famous actor , Matthew David McConaughey.

It is interesting to know that these two weren’t the director’s first choice. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brendan Fraser were supposed to embody the two lovers, but they were replaced by Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr who also dropped out.
As secondary characters we have Francine ‘Fran’ Donolly (Bridgette Wilson), Massimo (Justin Chambers), Salvatore Fiore (Alex Rocco), Mr. Donolly ( Charles Kimbrough) and Mrs. Donolly (Joanna Gleason). The part of Fran Donolly – Steven’s fiancée, is played by the actress, singer and model Bridgette Wilson. She manages to portray exactly the states through which passes a fiancée who quickly becomes the other woman in a man’s life. The handsome Justin Chambers manages to give life to the character of Mary’s temporary fiancée , Massimo. He is Mary’s childhood friend who proposes, and being in a vulnerable state, she accepts. However, their wedding is interrupted by Steven who realizes that his true love is Mary and comes to stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life. The brilliant actor Alex Rocco plays the part of Salvatore Fiore, Mary’s father who knows his daughter and realizes that she is not truly in love with Massimo so he does whatever he can to stop her. Fran’s parents are Ms. And Mrs Donolly embodied by Charles Kimbrough (best known for the part of Jim Dial on Murphy Brown) and Joanna Gleason (a Canadian actress and singer).

These are some of the most important characters from the charming movie “The Wedding Planner”. Through their flawless act, they manage to rise in the audience’s soul all sort of mixed emotions and feelings.
Although it was not well received by the critics being considered an “unoriginal” movie, “The Wedding Planner” is a romantic comedy which deserves to be recognized as a good movie with a realistic theme. I believe this because at the end of it, the viewer understands that in life a balance between career and love is essential, so due to its moral message this movie becomes a well directed one, deserving every praise that it gets.
