Canadian Wedding Planner Association

Canada is a beautiful country located in the northern part of the United States. It is mainly surrounded by water-the Pacific Ocean (in West), the Atlantic Ocean (East) and the Arctic Ocean (North), its motto being “A Mari Usque Ad Mare”-“From Sea to Sea”.

This is one of the regions which try to help its members succeed through local means and for that to happen, many schools and institutes are available for those who want to learn more. “The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada” is a Canadian association which offers its members the best study opportunities.

Founded by the lovely Danielle Andrews Sunkel (President) and Tracey Manailescu (Vice President), “The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada” (or WPIC) can also be proud of its team formed of the instructors Lindsay Mogford, Melissa Nowakowski and Monica Hill and administrators Kim Choy, Denise Georgiou and Dulce Avila.

All these wonderful ladies work hard in order to provide their clients only the best courses. Speaking of courses, at this Canadian association, you will have the opportunity to graduate with a certificate of “Wedding Consultant and Coordinator” and “Destination Wedding Coordinator”.

The first course implies 2 days of teaching “in-class” followed by 2 weeks of home-study. Afterwards, you give the exam that will make you a wedding coordinator. During these two days you will be taught different things like: what is the difference between a wedding coordinator and a consultant, what was the coordinator’s job through history, how should a portfolio look like, client interviews, tests that could verify what you’ve assimilated until a specific point, tips on professionalism, how to build a contract, how to choose a name for your future company, how to advertise, how much you will have to pay for all of these and many other interesting and useful things.

The next two weeks of individual study imply all of the elements mentioned above plus tips on wedding gowns, how to plan second marriages, thank-you cards etc. The final exam will be “web-based” and will consist in 80 questions that need to be answered in 200 minutes. But pay attention that this exam is only 40% of your final grade, in order to emphasizes the continuous learning.

The second course is available only through mail, and can be ordered only by “certified wedding planners” or “licensed traveling agents”, acting as an additional specialization to the first one. This includes a clear history of the destinations weddings, useful advice from expert wedding coordinators, what themes are more appropriate in these situations, how to manage the budget, which places are more romantic etc. It costs $200 and is based on an electronic support which has to be completed in 3 months.

If you are interested in finding out more details, I recommend you take a look on the www.wpic.ca site, where you can be familiarized with the locations in which you will find the WPIC team, media apparitions, the contact info of many wedding planners from Canada or a section dedicated to its students.

As you can notice, “The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada” is a Canadian association that knows exactly what to offer its clients and this is why it has the best recommendation. Contact them and you won’t regret it!
