Because we live in a crazy world, we need to be active and why not, a little crazy. More and more people start realizing that in some domains they need help and due to the modern technology that has appeared, getting help has become easier. If we consider the wedding planning industry, we come to the conclusion that wedding planners began to be more and more important for couples who are in need of assistance. For this industry to develop, many wedding planning schools have appeared and evolved. Taking the example of Canada, we find out that this is a $4 billion per year industry, mainly because more and more couples realize that they can save both time and money hiring a wedding coordinator.




A famous wedding planning institute from Canada is “The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada” or WPIC. The main thing you will learn at this planning institute is a code of ethics. In this code of ethics it says that each client is to be treated fairly and with sincerity, every client will receive a legal contract, everything is made for the benefit of the client etc.

Besides this, you will be familiarized with the courses you can learn here. The first one is the “wedding consultant and coordinator certification course” which consists in a 2 day in-class instruction and 2 weeks of home-study followed by a final exam. The final exam is formed of 80 questions which need to be answered in approximately 200 minutes. The second course is called “destination wedding coordinator certification course” which is only available through correspondence and costs $200. After receiving this course you will have 3 months to prepare for the final exam.

On January 29 and 30, 2011( 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.) you can go at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver; on February 19 and 20, 2011 at the University of  Ottawa, February 26 and 27 at the University of Winnipeg, March 26 and 27 at the University of Alberta and on April 16 and 17 at Delta Halifax.
