Becoming A Certified Wedding Planner

People have hobbies and sometimes they turn these hobbies into their profession. It is the best one can get out of a job. A friend of mine had a peculiar, if I may say, hobby. He loved to be asked for help whenever it came to organize different parties, both for his friends and family. Each time his assistance was involved one was sure of the success of one’s party. I know this as I have attended several events where he was part of the organization and I remember that everything was flawless in regard to the planning. I have to admit that with his love for details, his patience, his way of coordinating things and his imagination as well, he could successfully become an event planner.

I know at the same time that he works 9 hours per day in an office and on several occasions I have heard him complaining how boring his job is. So one evening when he invited me over for a cup of tea I dared ask him if he ever considered of becoming an event planner. He told me that he had previously thought about this and he actually did some research in this matter. It was this reason precisely he had me invited, as he needed to talk with someone about this issue. I thanked him for his choice to share with me his plans and told him that I enthusiastically encouraged his decision.

He then explained to me that he was thinking a little bit further in becoming a certified wedding planner and showed me some sites where he could apply for such courses. The sites were describing the way one could become a successful wedding planner either as a self employed career or as part of bridal organization job or as a part time job. The options displayed were actually his dilemma, not knowing what to do best: to choose the self-employed position which enabled him to run his own business and giving up the job he had at the moment or to begin working as a wedding planner in a part time job program. I told him to drop the latter option, since his present working-program wouldn’t have allowed him to do something else beside his actual work; becoming a certified wedding planner wasn’t much of a problem since he could attend the classes in the after working hours, some of the certified organizations offering online certificate programs of 200 up to 300 hours courses where students were able to attend to from the comfort of their homes.

These online programs were a good choice for him to begin with, allowing him to keep at the same time his job and have some financial support which would be of a great help till he was thinking to start his own business. Not to mention that venturing in an enterprise of your own requires a lot of investment and some savings wouldn’t hurt to initiate your business as a self-employed. He finally agreed that the choice of an online wedding planner program was the best and appreciated my objectivity in seeing more clear the things that to him started to be somehow confusing, since his own desire and goal were to become a wedding planner, thus fulfilling a dream that for so long had been his obsession.
